How Much Do Peptides Cost? What to Include in the Total

A practical way to compare the first bill, recurring fees, medication and follow-up without mistaking a headline price for the full cost.

Educational content. Clinical review pending. How we prepare our guides

There is no single useful price for “peptide therapy.” The phrase can refer to different products and different services. A medication-only price, a clinic membership and a prepaid care program are not the same purchase.

Start by asking for a written quote with three numbers: what you pay now, what you pay at the next renewal, and what the entire period you are committing to will cost. This is a comparison method, not a claim that every provider charges every fee below.

Build the total before comparing offers

Cost to ask about Question for the provider
Initial assessment Is the consultation included? Is it refundable if treatment is unsuitable?
Medication Which exact product and quantity does the quote cover?
Membership What care is included, and is medication separate?
Tests Are any tests required? Who bills for them, and when?
Pharmacy and delivery Are dispensing, shipping or supplies extra?
Follow-up Are scheduled reviews and between-visit questions included?
Cancellation What is the minimum commitment, notice period and refund policy?

Ask whether the amount can change when a prescription changes. Do not assume that the advertised starting price lasts for the whole care period.

Separate a promotion from the ongoing bill

Manufacturer programs illustrate why the details matter. Wegovy’s current page has different prices for tablets and injections, as well as a limited introductory injection offer. Zepbound’s page distinguishes presentations, strengths and purchase conditions. These are medication offers, not a universal total for an independent clinic’s care. Wegovy terms, Zepbound terms.

Our GLP-1 self-pay comparison records selected manufacturer prices checked on October 7, 2026. Use it to identify the right questions, then obtain a quote that applies to you. It is not a complete market survey.

A first-month discount becomes easier to assess when you also write down the second and third bills. If an offer requires several months paid upfront, distinguish the advertised monthly equivalent from the amount actually charged today.

Use a simple comparison worksheet

Copy the following into a note for each provider. Leave an unknown blank; do not turn it into zero.

Item Provider A Provider B
Exact medication, presentation and quantity
Initial consultation or setup
Medication payment for each refill
Membership payment and billing frequency
Tests, delivery and other charges
Total payable immediately
Total over the same comparison period
Cancellation terms and next price change

For illustration only, suppose a fictional service charges $100 once, $40 per month for care and $250 per month for medication. Three monthly payments would total $970: $100 + 3 × ($40 + $250), before any other fees. This is arithmetic with invented prices, not a Pephelp offer or an estimate of typical market cost.

Use the same period and the same included services for both quotes. A 28-day supply and a calendar-month subscription also deserve separate billing dates in your worksheet.

Insurance and self-pay need different questions

NIDDK advises checking with your insurer because coverage for weight-management medicines varies. NIDDK coverage information.

For an insured route, ask the plan about the exact product and the pharmacy about the processed prescription. For a self-pay route, ask which program applies, what eligibility conditions remain, and what happens when the offer ends. An advertised insured copay should not be treated as an uninsured cash price.

Compare the care as well as the invoice

Write down who makes medical decisions, who answers follow-up questions and how you contact them. Request the dispensing pharmacy’s identity and check it using the relevant state licensing resources; FDA’s BeSafeRx guidance explains online-pharmacy checks.

A lower quote can only be interpreted once you know what it covers. A higher quote is not, by itself, proof of better care. Bring the same provider questions to each conversation.
